Cokato has many events coming up this month, including an Egg Hunt, a new exhibit at the Cokato Museum, City-Wide Garage Sales, another fun seasonal event hosted by the DC Bounce Back Project, a spring play, a presentation on Composting and Soil Health, and more! Cokato Historical Society Annual Meeting
Featuring a Program and New Exhibit about Jerry Knapp & Elite Enterprises
Thursday, April 19th 7p
Centennial Room (accessible from the Cokato Library entrance on Broadway Ave)
Start your engines and travel to the Cokato Museum on Tuesday, April 19th at 7 p.m. for the Cokato Historical Society's Annual Meeting featuring a program about Cokato kit car racer and builder Gerald "Jerry" Knapp. In addition, there will be the grand opening of the Jerry Knapp & Elite Enterprises exhibit in the museum's temporary gallery.
The event is FREE and open to the public. There will be a brief (5-10 min) CHS Board meeting before the program.

The Dassel Ambassadors and Cokato Royalty are hosting a Kids Egg Hunt with lots of fun activities, including games, coloring, and an Easter craft! This event is sponsored by the Cokato Chamber of Commerce.
Dassel-Cokato High School Spring Play - One Stoplight Town

Dassel-Cokato Performing Arts Center
Dassel-Cokato High School Theater will present "One Stoplight Town" by Tracy Wells, produced by special arrangement with THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING COMPANY, INC., of Woodstock, IL. The show is a comedy/drama that highlights a small town in anywhere America. Each scene focuses on a different group of people that one might come across in a small town. Each story references similar ideas around the subject of change and how people respond to it.
Performances will be at the Dassel-Cokato Performing Arts Center on: April 7 at 7:00 pm April 9 at 7:00 pm April 10 at 2:00 pm
Tickets available for purchase at the door. Only cash or checks will be accepted. No presales and no credit/debit cards. $6.00 Adults/Seniors $4.00 Students
Composting and Soil Health Presentation
Monday, April 11th
Cokato Evangelical Lutheran Church
Sarah Lindblom, Farmer and President of the Crow River Chapter of the Sustainable Farming Association, will present on soil health and some simple tests you can do at home to measure soil health and improvement. Becky Bravinder, co-owner of Dan & Becky’s Market, and Teresa Harmala, vermi-composter, will also present on some different composting methods that make use of food and yard waste to produce "garden gold" that is rich in beneficial microbes that help to feed plants in the long-term.
This event is FREE and open to everyone. Hosted by the Dassel-Cokato Sustainable Living Group.

Andrew Walesch Presents Great Pop Singers of the 1950s

Cokato City-wide Garage Sales
Weekend of April 30th
The Cokato Chamber of Commerce is designating the weekend of April 30th for City-Wide Garage Sales this year.

Story Time at the Cokato Library

Join Konnie for great books and fun activities. Have fun and develop early literacy skills at the same time. For ages 3 to 6; toddlers and babies welcome, too. Sponsored by Friends of the Cokato Area Library.
Also, congratulations to Nicole Wilson, Cokato Library's new Library Services Coordinator! Nicole has worked at the library in Buffalo for 10 years and at the Cokato Library for the past year. She originally started as a library aide over 10 years ago at Cokato Library and is excited to have come back around here.

The Marketplace has a fun setup in the store now where you can take a photo with a these cute bunnies. Just follow the the bunny tracks!
Cokato-Dassel Rotary Mini-Grants
Applications Due April 30th
Rotary is offering mini-grants up to $2000 per grant for community projects that will support the Rotary Values of:
Who can apply?
● Eligible groups in the Dassel-Cokato Community
● Examples: Civic organizations, churches, youth groups, food shelves, schools,
nursing homes, or groups of friends/neighbors who have a great idea to improve
● Art/Music in the Park
● Support of non-profit organizations
● Community Events or Festivals
● Educational Events or Classes
● Creativity classes- Painting, photography, sewing, cooking, etc.
● Gardening or Nutrition Education
● Neighborhood Events
● Free libraries or food shelves, book clubs
● Establishing a community group/club
● YOUR unique idea!
To apply, fill out the Google form here.
Winners will be notified by Friday, May 13th. Grant funds may be used for project supplies and materials, as well as rental/instructor fees. Projects and funds must be spent within one year of being selected (May 2023).
Cokato Chamber Meeting
