“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” Helen Keller
In January as calendars open up, maybe it’s time to consider joining an organization
in Cokato. We have many quality clubs and groups that are doing amazing things for
our community. Give one of them a try and see how wonderful helping others
makes you feel.
If your interest lies in history there is the Cokato Museum and Akerlund Studio. The
studio will be undergoing a major renovation this year, watch for the
transformation. The Finnish American Historical Society is also available if your
ancestry lies in that direction.
The Cokato Dassel Lions and Rotary have very active clubs and they lead some
incredible community projects. Consider joining them for a meeting, they’d love to
have you come and see what they’re all about.
If you love children, contact the Charger Kids Club at 320-286-4120.
Enjoy visiting with the elderly? How about delivering Meals on Wheels? Cokato Charitable Trust can tell you more about how you can help.
The Library, Save and Share Thrift Store and Cokato Food Shelf are always looking
for friendly people to help out.
If you have a military background consider the American Legion.
The Corn Carnival is thriving due to all of their great volunteers. It only takes a few
hours during the Carnival and you’ll love all the interesting neighbors you’ll meet.
Information about many of these groups and more can be found on the Connect with Cokato page
under Organizations.
