Father's Day in Cokato

Father's Day is coming up this Sunday, and if you're looking for fun ideas that special dad might appreciate, here are some to consider:

  • Fishing on local lake You can get bait from Jack's gas station and a couple of good lakes for fishing are Cokato Lake and Brooks Lakes. There is a fishing pier on Brooks Lake at Veterans Memorial Park and access to Cokato Lake just north of the Cokato Lake Campground on County Road 4.

  • Kernels or Saints Baseball game Both teams will have away games on the 19th, but the Kernels play not too far away in Maple Lake, while the Saints will be in Rockford. However, you can always plan for a future home game. Check out the Kernels schedule or the Saints schedule to find a date that works for you.

  • Ice cream or dinner at a local restaurant or food truck Check out our Food & Drink page for Cokato restaurants and food trucks. You can find ice cream treats at The Grounds, Dairy Queen, and The Marketplace. Charged Up Nutrition also has sweet shakes and teas to enjoy.

  • Grilling Meat The White Front Meat Market on Broadway Ave offers pre-made hamburger patties in a tube of 20. You can, of course, also find a variety of meats at The Marketplace.

  • Cokato Golf Course Play a round at the golf course or get a certificate for a future date.

  • Pickle ball Try a hand at pickle ball at the Cokato tennis courts or the new pickle ball court next to the railroad track in town.

  • Tennis, soccer, basketball, biking, hiking, or a picnic You can take dad out for a fun outing or game at a local park or trail. Refer to our Parks, Lakes, & Trails page for a list of parks and their amenities.
