Treats and snacks are provided while event visitors can participate in "tin melting," a Finnish tradition where you melt a piece of tin and predictions are made for you based on the shape and characteristics of the cooled tin.

The Cokato-Dassel Lions offer their famous pork chops for pick up.

Free bikes are given away to kids and adults locally on a first-come first-serve basis. Helmets are also provided. Bikes can also be donated in early October at a collection event at the Cokato Allina Clinic.

A short parade near Peterson Park is followed by a program at the elementary school.

A "great Cokato get-together," this much anticipated summer event draws crowds from near and far. Midway rides, food, a special coronation for Cokato Royalty, drawings, entertainment, corn bingo, other games, and more make this 3-day affair a memorable time for all. Members of the area communities come to learn more about the businesses and organizations that make Dassel-Cokato a great place to live! The Expo also sports a FREE pancake breakfast served by the Cokato-Dassel Lions.

A designated weekend when, typically, many residents offer garage sales in the Cokato area.

A 5K run/walk starts at the DC High School and follows the DC bike path. The event is intended to raise mental health awareness, and proceeds go toward a scholarship awarded to someone attending school for a degree in a mental health field. 

The museum hosts a special open house this day 9a-12p.

A free movie, sponsored by local Cokato businesses, is offered at dusk in Peterson Park. Bring your own seating. There is typically food and fun activities for the kids before the movie.

A special Halloween event, trick-or-treaters can visit participating Chamber businesses to collect treats in downtown Cokato and other nearby businesses.

This "trot" is 4 miles and starts early Thanksgiving morning at the Dassel-Cokato High School. There is also a door prize drawing for participants following the run/walk.

A special presentation is offered for the public to attend.

City of Cokato residents (must show ID) may bring in items such as construction materials, electronics, scrap metal, appliances, mattresses, furniture, etc. A current list of items and fees are posted on the City of Cokato website prior to the event.

A bake sale, open house, and special program are all offered at the this nationally recognized historic location.

A video or program is presented in the hall along with a potluck dinner. A bonfire is also held following the dinner.

Every year in the fall DC school alumni are encouraged to attend  the homecoming game at the DC Varsity Football Stadium to reunite with classmates and others. All community members are welcome to come cheer on the home team. There is typically a pork chop preceding the game near the stadium as well.

The Dassel-Cokato Craft Fair has been a tradition in our area for almost 50 years and, in recent years, typically hosts over 100 vendors! Our Craft Fair is sponsored by the volunteers of the Dassel-Cokato Early Childhood Advisory Council. All booth fee and lunch room food sale proceeds go directly to Dassel-Cokato Early Childhood programming, community literacy, preschool scholarships, and more.

There is a candle lighting at the Finnish cemetary followed by a potluck at Cokato Township Hall.
